Circle of Hope Christmas party-a time of fun and appreciation!

52 Migrant School children enjoyed a half day of fun on November 30th with 27 volunteers as they celebrated the season with a Christmas party this year.
The day was warm and sunny, and the kids enjoyed the outdoor activities: 20131130_102753Active Relay and Musical Chairs. Each child also made a Christmas Tree Centerpiece to take home to share with his/her family. There were smiles of hope and appreciation on every child’s face when they put up their own handmade crystal ornaments on our Christmas Tree in the Chapel!

20131130_111004The party ended at around noon, with the kids happily taking home a Christmas goodie bag filled with candies, chocolates and milk supplied by Caritas along with homemade cookies donated by our volunteers. The goodie bag also included a fleece jacket generously provided by Amilia Phay, our former Project Lead for Circle of Hope.

We hate to see Amilia repatriate to the US, but are pleased to announce that Clare Chui will be taking over the role for the remainder of this year, along with Meg Francisco overseeing volunteer recruitment for Circle of Hope. It was a great day for all!

If you are interested in volunteering for this very rewarding ongoing Caritas project, please email Clare Chui: [email protected]
