Another successful Gala for CARITAS Shanghai.
On April 27, 310 people met in the Kerry Pudong Ballroom at 5 pm to celebrate CARITAS’ year long efforts, showcase our projects and to eat, bid, drink and dance the evening away.
The 71 beautiful Silent Auction items caught so much attention and sparked lively and spirited bidding. Not to be outdone, the over 40 Raffle prizes made for great fun with the audience as well. There was a heart warming performance by the Migrant Education program students singing three songs in English and a touching speech given by one of our cancer project survivors, Xiu Yuan. This year live music filled the ballroom and the popular music from the SHJ band had everyone out on the dance floor.
Of course, no event would be complete without a delicious and sumptuous buffet. Along with an assortment of beverages and delightful desserts, everyone enjoyed the evening immensely. This event allows CARITAS Shanghai to raise funds and awareness to continue a great number of projects throughout the year. Without the generous aid from our supporters and the hands of many coming together to work tirelessly, we would not have made it to over 12 years of existence in Shanghai.
We wish to offer our deepest gratitude not only to all who attended, and the doctors who assist us, but also to everyone who worked together to bring the Gala to life. In this way CARITAS Shanghai can continue to inspire hope for those most in need.
